This is part of a series of books in which particular verses are picked from books of the bible, and the issues of Spiritual Identity are explored, in the light of the mind of God for us.
In this book, we explore eight topics, from different verses in the books of Numbers and Deuteronomy. They are: We were aliens to the commonwealth of Israel; God with us; Separation for service; What is the blessing of Abraham that is upon gentiles?; Commissioning; God’s own possession; 3 dimensions of divine sonship; and No empty word.
Excerpts:
We were aliens to the commonwealth of Israel
“Whatever the god is, it has a form, and, but the God and father of our Lord Jesus is related to only though the avenue by faith, through the spiritual embrace of his Son, or else we make ourselves enemies of God.”
God with us
“The blood of Jesus however cleanses us from all sins (1John 1:7-9) and we are made qualified for the presence of God, to experience “God with us” in our lives.”
Separation for service
“Of the remnant of the house of Judah, the bible says that they will first take root downwards and then they will bear fruits upwards (2Kings 19:20). The time of your devotion to seeking God are not for waste, the fruit is about to come forth for everyone to see.”
What is the blessing of Abraham that is upon gentiles?
“The Holy Spirit is the ultimate leveler; making relationship with God possible for anyone without any prerequisite except you come through the door called Jesus, whatever your race, age, or past experience, involvement or education. Jesus actually calls himself the door for the sheep (John 10:7). He is the door to our experience of God the Holy Spirit, to our experiencing “the” blessing. Through any other door and you are led to the experience of the curse of evil spirits.”
Commissioning
“The commission he had from God occupied the next forty years of his life on a full time basis. He had to change his location, and start out on a challenging journey, depending on God every step of the way. It was challenging. But he was called faithful in carrying out the mind of God (Hebrews 3:5).”
God’s own possession
“There is no bus-stop where we would stay again before going to heaven, in the form of Abraham’s bosom, which is actually a place of captivity of some form (Ephesians 4:8). You have a one way trip to heaven. We are God’s own possession coming home to our owner.”
3 dimensions of divine sonship
“As many as are led by the Holy Spirit they are the sons of God, the bible says (Romans 8:14). And to be continually led by the Holy Spirit presupposes that we are continually obeying the leading. The point is when we are faithful with little, we get more (Luke 16:10). Jesus called him the Spirit of truth who will guide us into all truth (John 16:13). But we still have the choice of take the path of truth or to follow lies.”
No empty word
“Because he does not want to say the wrong words, David prayed: let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to you (Psalm 19:14). How transformed we are is shown in the words of our mouth. That is why James wrote that the one who is perfect in words is perfect indeed.”
