During his life he ventured into the literary world and this is the only novel written by Don. He was an avid reader of both fictional and non-fiction and had a library filled with notable authors novels of all types. Born in a small town in Eastern Pennsylvania in 1925, his family moved several times during the 1930 Depression, and after several moves, finally settled in Harrisburg, PA. He attended William Penn High School in Harrisburg; however, left high school while in the 11th Grade. He enlisted in the Navy but was rejected because of medical reasons. He felt its his duty to serve and then enlisted in the Army during the beginning of World War II. Upon his Honorable discharge from the Army Air Force, he returned to Harrisburg and attended the Harrisburg Academy, where he finished his high school education and received his diploma. He then attended the University of Colorado, in Boulder, and graduated with a BA in History. Upon graduation from UofC, he joined a very large electronic company in Harrisburg, PA (AMP Inc.), and worked as a General Manager for the International Division. During his 34 year career with AMP, he traveled around the world many times, visiting the various foreign offices of AMP. He had a rewarding career and retired from AMP in 1986. He enjoyed running, skiing, cross-country, football and reading.
