“Who are you?” Anthony asked of his vision twin.
“I am the instrument of your death,” the vision replied.
“Are you me?”
“I am as much you as you are me.”
A blinding bolt of lightning slammed into the earth between the two men and Anthony opened his eyes to reveal the bedroom he had fallen asleep in.
He felt a hand on his shoulder and looked over to see Adeline staring at him with a worried expression. “Did you have a dream?” she asked.
“Yes. I had a very strange dream,” he said.
“What was it about?”
He looked at her and felt compelled to tell her everything he had experienced, but something held the words at bay. He knew he loved this woman, and he was as devoted as any man could be to his true love, but he felt the slightest hesitation in trusting her with this information.
“I don’t remember,” he mumbled.
