In his debut novel, K.G. Benell offers readers suspense, heroism, and a gripping race against time in this spellbinding epic that takes the reader from Washington D.C. to the Bavarian and Austrian Alps. Within the context of war, the characters face questions of life, death, faith, love, regret, betrayal, doubt, and fear. The story explores concepts of good versus evil, free will, and human nature.

The war in Europe is winding down, but for many on both sides, there are life altering scenarios with immediate and long-term ramifications yet to be played out. Throughout the war, an essential, clandestine battle has been waged, cloaked in the shadows of secrecy, with operatives on both sides vying to turn the tide of the war. One such mission is about to unfold involving a daring quest for a mysterious object believed to hold the key to post-war power that will change the destinies of all who are touched by the dangerous pursuit.

Allied intelligence has intercepted a final message sent by Adolf Hitler to his shrewdest and deadliest assassin, Franz Ubel, code-named Wolf. This intercept precipitates an intrepid mission, pitting Dylan Murphy and William Sterling against Ubel, to gain possession of the mysterious object and to capture, or terminate, the Wolf.

To complicate matters, a list of British agents operating in Germany, has fallen into the hands of the Wolf. The list includes the name of Elizabeth Colby, who is missing and presumed dead. Her latest assignment had her working with a German Underground Movement that was actively trying to undermine Hitler. Recently, however, the leaders of the movement had turned up dead, all executed by the Wolf.
