Estella Lang had while helping her father, Earl Lang, with the weekends hunt, been shot with an arrow. The arrow hit her on her left shoulder. A lady, Beatrice Crown had, as she heard Estella's scream come to see how she could help. A young man, Thorwald Eager, had as he said slipped on a wet stone, shot the arrow by mistake. It was later found out that he had shot to kill Estella, to help a good friend, David Anchor. He David had been refused by Estella, and to work it out David had promised Thorwald some money if he during the hunt, could kill her. It took some time to work it all out. With some magic, Earl Lang's sister Jezebel had succeeded to stop the guilty party.
