"The best recommendation I can give “Wings & Dreams: 4 Elements of a New Feminism” is to say that it manages to be intellectual and yet concurrently readable. Most feminist books are either one or the other; occasionally they are neither. “Wings & Dreams” discusses not only a global history of women’s rights both socially and politically, but also how new philosophies must be incorporated into our thinking as we shape the course of future feminism. As a baby boomer and a first wave feminist, I have read countless books on this subject. Some of them have been dry and academic; some were strident and emotional; most are repetitive and, frankly, lacking compassion.

The style of the essays contained in “Wings & Dreams,” however, encompasses none of these standard traits. The information is straightforward and thoughtful. The various points of view are different without being conflicting. Yes, it has a conclusion – that future feminism must include a partnership with men if it is to truly succeed both spiritually and socially. But the authors manage to convey this perspective without becoming preachy. And that is, I believe, what separates this book from past writings. I enjoyed it. By the way, so did my husband. "
