Witch Wars (Anti-Heroes Book VI) by Louise Bohmer & K.H. Koehler: In ANTI-HEROES BOOK VI: WITCH WARS the battle with Mr. Magickal gets intense, and Serena uses her darkness magic, along with spells she’s never used before, to fight him. But Mr. Magickal calls on a new flying minion to help him. Will the Anti-Heroes save the universe in time, or will Mr. Magickal rip apart existence as we know it? Find out in the explosive, exciting conclusion to the Anti-Heroes serial!

Excerpt: As Serena shot out a coil of the Grey and Nikki let her Nix side out, a half dozen cops, along with Jinx, stormed into the hall. The moment Jinx saw the danger at hand, he skidded to a halt, his worn sneakers screeking on the linoleum floor.

“Serena, look out!” he shouted.

A burly copy with a bristly moustache aimed a pistol at her and said, “Step back from the cell, Miss.”

The words barely left his lips before the glass rippled away and Mr. Magickal shot out into the hall. Whips of the ooze that still clung to him shot out, trying to ensnare Serena, Nikki, and Isaac, but the Grey reared up like a shining tidal wave of pure magic and deflected these. More tendrils of Mr. Magickal’s power reached for the cops, winding around their ankles and struggling with them. One cop managed to run from the hall before an inky tentacle ensnared him. Another got off a shot before the ropy tether coiled around his neck and squeezed.
The cop screamed and his eyes bugged manically as he dropped his gun.

Jinx shouted “When will this crazy shit end?” and let his wings unfold as he rose up and shot small fireballs directly at the tentacles.
Serena knew he couldn’t let a massive firestorm go inside the building. It would set the place ablaze in seconds and leave them all in more danger than they were in now. She let the Grey swoop and swirl with him, helping to try and contain Mr. Magickal like a big fist trying to close around a bothersome insect.

Mr. Magickal’s power drained all the cops he caught, leaving the police withered husks as he sucked all their life energy away. He dropped their desiccated corpses to the linoleum floor and moved farther into the hall where Serena and her friends waited, trying to put on a brave front.
