You Belong is a book of oral history and human anthropology and is a memoir inspired by a recorded cassette tape of my mother (Bibi Sediqeh). Listening to my mothers recorded voice and subsequently transcribing her words now as a mature person is enabling me to appreciate the magnitude of each event and fills me with the deepest regret for losing the precious moments when she was alive and present and eager to talk.
