THE FLAME OF ANGER

Giving vent to anger is temporary insanity.

A NATION DEVASTATED

A massive earthquake in April reduced half of Nepal to a disaster zone. Tzu Chi volunteers are helping the reeling nation.

DEVASTATION AND FAITH

After a major earthquake traumatized the Himalayan nation of Nepal, Tzu Chi medical volunteers scrambled to help the injured.

HEALING THE INJURED

Relays of medical delegations conducted clinics and worked with local doctors to care for quake victims.

COMFORTING THE DISPOSSESSED

Special folding beds designed by Tzu Chi and distributed in Nepal were particularly welcome in the rainy season that followed the earthquake.

HOPE FOR THE FUTURE

Hope sprouts amidst devastation as students and teachers resume classes in prefabricated classrooms designed by Tzu Chi.

BEHIND CLOSED DOORS

To escape civil war and persecution, refugees from Burma flee to Malaysia. But there they cannot legally work, receive medical care, or send their children to school.

CAUGHT IN THE PREDICAMENT

Burmese refugees who had endured horrible persecution in their homeland found the reality in Malaysia less than rosy.

POVERTY AND ILLNESS: A VICIOUS CYCLE

If refugees are sick, they cannot work. If they cannot work, they cannot afford to go to a doctor. If they cannot see a doctor, they cannot get well and go back to work.

EDUCATION IS PRECIOUS, BUT SCHOOL OR WORK?

Children of refugees in Malaysia need a good education to climb out of poverty. But because of their poverty now, they may have to work.

HEALING WOUNDS WITH LOVE

Tzu Chi medical personnel recently reacted with love and care after a terrible tragedy in Taiwan.

FIERY BLAST AT TAIWAN WATER PARK

Tzu Chi volunteers quickly responded when nearly 500 young people were injured in an explosion during a party.

BEDROCK MOUNTAIN RESCUE

These volunteer mountaineers spend much of their lives conducting rescue operations and training.

AN EXPANDED FAMILY

Her life used to be centered on her own family. But the more she worked with Tzu Chi, the more she came to see the people she dealt with as her own relatives.
