Onias’ problem is that he can’t get to school on time because he can’t wake up early enough. It is winter, and his three friends pass his house on their way to school, but he’s never ready when they stop and call him. They don’t have warm clothes, so they run on to school without waiting.

Onias’ teacher makes him stay in the classroom and do extra work during break, when the other pupils go outside and play.

One day he receives a parcel from his aunt. He knows how the contents of the parcel will help his friends in the winter, and will also help him to get to school on time.

He shows his friends what his aunt has sent him, and tells them that he’ll share the contents if all of them call for him and wait for him on their way to school. They all agree.

He lets the first one who arrives wear his new green jersey; the next one his new blue one, and the third one his old jersey. They all want to benefit from Onias’ jerseys.

He no longer gets to school late, and his friends are no longer cold.
