This collection of poems were written in the mid 80's at the height of the struggle for freedom in South Africa. They merely reflect thoughts and feelings of a young man who was struggling to come to terms with the reality of his times. He pretty much was not sure what the future had in store for him. He was caught between following his dream of becoming a musician or an academic. Because of the chaos that ensued on University campuses across the country, punctuated by student protests and constant termination of academic programmes, he was not even sure he was going to graduate. As he was pondering about his future, he would capture his thoughts and feelings by means of a poem or two at that moment in time. These poems more or less places him in a space where he can almost taste success and touch his dream of living happily ever after.
