Anthony Rogers is a 20th century man transported to the 25th century after a mine cave-in left him in a state of suspended animation. Upon emerging, Rogers discovers that America has been crushed by the Han, a Mongolian people possessing advanced technology. Rogers joins the Americans in the new struggle for independence from their cruel foreign overlords.

Philip Francis Nowlan (1888-1940) was an American pulp writer, specializing in Science Fiction. His best-known character, "Buck" Rogers, was featured in comics, radio and film serials, novels and adapted into a television-movie in 1979 and a television series from 1979-1981.
