Keshia’s career as a nurse is just beginning when she enters the hospital known as Crossings, a hospital for men only. The young woman’s duties are unique, to say the least, but not nearly as unique as the woman in charge. When the old woman asks Keshia for a favor, she has no idea that the seemingly sweet young nurse has a destructive secret.
Excerpt:
“There are no women at Crossings. This is a hospital for men, that is, if you can call it a hospital.” She flipped through a magazine as she talked. The woman put down her magazine. “Honey, I took this job thinking it would be nice to get away from the city. Up here in no man’s land no one bothers you, but guess what? No one can hear you scream, either.”
Keshia looked at her with big round eyes. “I don’t get it.”
The woman scooted closer to Keshia and spoke in a soft voice. “Nurse Wolf watched your every move. She always watches us.”
******
Herbert had left the hospital when Keshia’s shift ended. He lived on the other side of a whispering brook that ran along the edge of the property. Lots of men lived there in a luxury mansion built by Nurse Wolf a few years ago for the down and out men she found in the cities. They were provided all the material pleasures of the world, things they had never had until she ‘rescued’ them. At Crossings, they were placed on the coveted hospital rotation where they were given whatever they desired. Herbert had been pleased with Keshia. She wasn’t frigid as so many of the others had been. She would do well at Crossings.
