The purpose of this book is to provide specific and unbiased information on the California Family Code Sections that spell out the investment limitations and opportunities for the earnings of a minor required to be set aside in a Blocked Trust account.
The accounts are generally referred to as “Coogan Accounts” after the name of the young child star from the 1920’s who later in life played Uncle Fester on the 1960’s Addams Family Television show. Despite earning millions as a young Chaplin Studio’s star, Coogan found his parents had spent most of it and he unsuccessfully sued them when he reached majority age.
