Edgar Allan Poe (19 enero 1809 - 7 octubre 1849) fue un escritor estadounidense, poeta, editor y crítico literario, considerado como parte del movimiento romántico americano. Mejor conocido por sus cuentos de misterio y lo macabro, Poe fue uno de los pioneros en la narración breve, y generalmente se le considera el inventor del género de la novela policíaca. Se le atribuye que también contribuyó en el novedoso y emergente genero de la ciencia ficción. Se sabe que fue el primer escritor americano en intentar ganarse la vida con la escritura, dando por resultado una vida de penurias y pobreza.

Esta edición no es una traducción de la obra, es una reescritura con algunas partes añadidas u omitidas y adaptada para aprender español en virtud del Marco Europeo Común de Referencia para las Lenguas (MCER), Nivel A1.

Edgar Allan Poe ( January 19, 1809 – October 7, 1849) was an American author, poet, editor, and literary critic, considered part of the American Romantic Movement. Best known for his tales of mystery and the macabre, Poe was one of the earliest American practitioners of the short story, and is generally considered the inventor of the detective fiction genre. He is further credited with contributing to the emerging genre of science fiction. He was the first well-known American writer to try to earn a living through writing alone, resulting in a financially difficult life and career.

In this book have been included seven of his best stories:

The black cat. Berenice. The fall of the House of Usher. The Pit and the Pendulum. The Masque of the Red Death. The Facts in the Case of Mister Valdemar. Ligeia.

This edition is not a translation at all but a complete re-write of the novel with portions added and omitted and adapted to learn Spanish under Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), Level A1.
