The Second Enlarged Edition of Judith Laura’s award-winning book, Goddess Spirituality for the 21st Century: From Kabbalah to Quantum Physics, has a brief study guide for all subjects and chapters in the book. This longer study and discussion guide is for readers interested in delving even more deeply into the Kabbalah/Qabalah material comprising 4 chapters of the book. This guide focuses just on those four chapters, which describe metaphysical forms known as Jewish Kabbalah and Western Esoteric or Hermetic Qabalah, provide a historical analysis of them, and then propose a re-visioning (or re-envisioning) of the central kabbalistic symbol, the Tree of Life. This re-envisioning reveals the Tree’s Goddess roots and achieves more egalitarian imagery. This study guide is meant to help people reading this material on their own, as well as to provide guidance for people studying in groups and their teachers or leaders.
This guide to chapters 2-5 of Goddess Spirituality for the 21st Century has 6 parts. Parts 1-3 examine book chapters 2 and 3 on Jewish Kabbalah. Parts 4 and 5 discuss chapter 4, Hermetic Qabalah. Part 6 relates to chapter 5 of the book, a re-envisioning of the kabbalistic Tree of Life, and describes ways to use the guided meditations and rituals in this chapter. Part 6 of this guide also includes 3 graphics from the book (reproduced here slightly smaller than in the book) that show gender attributions in the various versions of the Tree of Life. (The book also contains two other Tree of Life graphics in earlier chapters.)
This guide was written by the author, who has used it her teaching. With the exception of the opening guided meditation given in Part 1, which appears in this guide but not in the book, all material referred to in this study guide is provided in the book, Goddess Spirituality for the 21st Century: From Kabbalah to Quantum Physics.
