I was born in Newent, Gloucestershire, in May 1965, the son of teachers, my father was later to become a Regional Official for a Teachers Union. I had one older sister and we lived in a house my parents had purpose built on a small plot of land theyd bought in Newent. We moved to Exmouth, Devon, in the summer of 1967, when my dad changed jobs, and then to Exeter in August 1972, into the family home my parents continue to live in until this day. This book is a collection of memories and recollections from my childhood, of growing up in the 1970s, of people, places and incidents, some humorous, some purely nostalgic from that era.
