Narrated Abu Hurairah: Allah's Apostle (pbuh) said: "Whoever establishes prayers during the nights of Ramadan faithfully out of sincere faith and hoping to attain Allah's rewards (not for showing off), all his past sins will be forgiven." (Sahih Bukhari - Volume 1, Book 2, Number 36)
Fasting in Ramadan, the 9th month in the Hijri Calendar is one of the Five Pillars of Islam. In this month, Allah has made fasting obligatory upon Muslims, as He had to earlier peoples and nations. Ramadan is an annual training programme to refresh us for carrying out our duties towards Allah. This booklet contains guidance for Muslims regarding how to spend this month and various etiquettes and acts of worship associated with this month e.g. Fasting, Charity, Taraweeh and Itikaaf.
This booklet was initially published on the internet by Islamicknowledge.com. The internet version has been thoroughly reviewed and presentation has been significantly improved by Darussalam. The improved version is being presented for the benefit of Muslims so that they can make the most of the Holy month of Ramadan.
