Joseph’s life can be summed up in one phrase from Genesis 50:20 “…but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.”  Whatever happened to him in his life  God had a bigger plan and purpose which was the saving of many lives.  Whatever Satan has planned for you and whatever oppositions, struggles or even just the day to day monotony of laundry and meal planning, God’s ultimate purpose is the saving of many lives.  Where your mind goes – down the rabbit hole of anxiety, defeat, “overwhelmedness” or fixed, albeit sometimes by sheer grit, on the cross will ultimately determine how you fare on the other side of trials.  Will you wallow in self-pity?  Will you blame others?  Will you despair and retreat inward?  Will you manipulate to get your way?  Will you put on a façade and fake your way through life?  That is what Satan wants more than anything.  He wants your focus off of God.  Therefore, your answer, my answer to everything that he throws at us must always, unquestioningly be “BUT GOD.”  The first words out of your mouth when you are feeling like a failure, a fraud or a freak should be, “BUT GOD.”
