Charles Perrault was a French author of fairy tales. "Little Thumb" is a fairy tale about a brave boy. Once upon a time there was a peasant and his wife. They had seven children, all boys. The boys couldn't earn their bread. The youngest one was very small, and spoke not so much. People took it for stupidity. The boy was called Little Thumb. There was a very bad year, and the peasant decided to rid himself of the boys. He was going to lose them in the forest. Little Thumb heard about this, got up early in the morning and went out to collect white pebbles, and then he returned home. When the family went to the forest, the parents run away and let the children alone. Little Thumb led his brothers home, because he had dropped pebbles along the way. After that, the parents attempted to get rid from the boys again. How did the story end? Read "Little Thumb" to know it.
