This book contains two stories written on South Asian background. The stories are suitable ideally for the children aged 5-7. The first story 'Manu and the Scarecrow' is woven around a scarecrow and a young boy called 'Manu'. He is a kite maker but does not like to share his kites or his expertise with the others. His behaviour changed due to an unexpected happening. The Scarecrow's sobbing makes him think about the world around him seriously. Finally on Manu's attempt to make the scarecrow happy, other children joined him to share his joy. The second story is based on a Sri Lankan folk tale. A set of clockwork toys get into a pumpkin in the flood. The girl who owns the toys gets evacuated to a safe area due to the flood. The pumpkin comes floating to where the little girl 'Tina' stays. When they go fishing when the flood is subsided, they found the pumpkin and the clockwork toys inside still working.
