How does a person keep growing as they age? How does a person break out of predictable patterns and comfort zones? Lynda Beth Unkeless decided to challenge herself to do just that by meeting and writing about one new person every day in 2015. The project was going well, and then in June 2015, she was suddenly diagnosed with two brain tumors. She had to have major brain surgery on one tumor and radiation three months later on the second tumor. The project came to a halt. Even though she did not accomplish her initial goal of meeting one new person every day for a year, she wanted to publish those interviews she did manage to do. The people she met prepared her in part for what she was going to face meeting and treating two brain tumors.
