In the recent years, microfinance has increased attentions of people around the world for fighting the problems of poverty and unemployment. Two different approaches have been identified for the evolution of the microfinance industry such as the Latin American model and the South-Asian model. The South-Asian model is largely based on Groups. In this direction, this book examines the functioning of group based microfinance intervention in India. It is specially addressed for academicians, businessmen, financial institutions and policymakers engaged in the area of microfinance world.
