Mishka dragged on a pair of boots and slammed the door behind her as she rushed down the steps and to her car parked in the driveway. This was just perfect. Not only was it raining, but she was already running half hour late. She sighed and checked her watch again, 3:33 pm….come on. This was her first meeting with this network marketing company she recently joined and she wanted to make a good impression on the Director she signed with. She had heard about this company through a friend who was thinking about signing up, but she ended up being suckered out of $300 before he actually did, so now she just thought it was a good idea to commit to it. All she wanted to do was learn as much as she could, make her money back and if in the process be able to buy a nicer car, swell.
Well, she always did say “better late than ugly”. To Mishka’s great misfortune, some genius had decided to set up the presentation room facing the only door (serving as both entrance and exit) so she was very much noticed when she walked in the middle of the pitch. Great. It was hard not to stare at her too. Without much effort, her get up appeared a little over the top for the occasion since everyone else seemed quite drab in jeans and t-shirt. She too would have look as drab, well...maybe not since her taste in fashion prohibited that. She was wearing jeans and t-shirt….but because of the rain and the lack of an umbrella, she also added the mid calf boots, leather Armani jacket and tucked her red hair up into a beanie. So yes, the snooty stares from the other females in the room were expected.
