“You look different somehow,” I heard Peter say. I looked at him.
He was now looking at me, and I felt like I was betraying his kindness and the love that glowed like an incandescent light from within. He had no idea that my memories had resurfaced and I was now the well-honed killing machine that I once was.
Looking back on the events of the day, I could see several moments that would have gone differently had I not been stripped of my identity. I could thank Stephen a.k.a. Nigel Harris for that, as I could now see that he had drugged me, and had turned me into the prim and proper little bitch that was this Clarice or Clara in Peter's eyes.
I could still feel her presence, but now it was just a numbing sensation that I wanted to get rid of as soon as possible.
