Walter Crane was primarily a designer and book illustrator, specialising in children's books. “Princess Belle-Etoile” is the exciting story, written by Madame d'Aulnoy. Once upon a time there were three Princesses, who lived in retirement with their mother. One day an old woman called and asked for a dinner. After the meal was over, the old woman, who was a fairy, promised that their kindness should be rewarded. Shortly after there were a grand wedding ceremony of three sisters with the king, his admiral and king's brother, respectively. But the king’s mother, once heard the sons had married such lowborn women, became furious and decided to kill the children, that would be born soon… The famous fairy tale, accompanied by Crane’s colorful illustrations, will not leave indifferent your children and yourself!
