RHYME OVER TIME OR LOOKING BACKWARDS IN ADVERSE VERSE  is a compilation of poems, beginning with the authors experience at age 18 to the present, best described in her own words “…and on these pages write of all I’ve felt and thought.”1 Her poems, thematically, are concerned with emotional and intellectual reactions to the conditions of reality and embrace not only her own response but those of close associates as well as classical literary figures2 or even more modern theatre artists.3 Technically, these poems generally conform to the age-old values that define poetry when opposed to prose, as respecting rhyme, metre, form, etc. The author whose Canadian schooling instilled a profound appreciation and understanding of the difference between prose and poetry believes that poetic prose is not per se poetry, and she instinctively adheres in every poem to the poetic standards practised over the centuries, modified at times, but never abandoning the basic precepts which differentiates prose from poetry.   1. Exordium 2. Love Letter to Ulysses 3. Tribute to the Young Orson Welles
