Rhythms of the Inner Life uses the Psalms to explore the movements of the heart that are part of our life with God. This book doesn’t settle for arm’s-length discussion, but invites readers to experience more deeply the Psalms and their own inner lives. The movements of the heart change and nurture one another: longing and waiting stand in tension; trust underlies moments of peace as well as times of despair; awe and wonder yield to intimate conversation with God; celebration rings with thanksgiving and praise.
