SAP Master Data Governance (SAP MDG) offers centralized governance for master data domains like Financials, Supplier, Customer, and Material. With this application, you can manage master data that is ready and fit to use within SAP environments.

Release 7.0 of SAP MDG brought the option of using SAP HANA for advanced duplicate detection and search, and it provides matching and cleansing capabilities. Once the MDG information is contained in SAP HANA, you can use SAP HANA’s capabilities for duplicate-detection and similarity-ranked search. This search method comes in addition to other options like plain database search or Enterprise Search. SAP HANA fuzzy search allows for both, free-style Google-like search with search terms as well as attribute-based search with dedicated thresholds for each attribute.

This book covers the basic configuration of SAP MDG for three master data domains- Material, Supplier and Customer followed by HANA based search and de-duplication setup.
