Loni stretched out atop her bed with a contented sigh, a warm smile spreading across her face as she squeezed her eyes shut in satisfaction. Mathew had surprised her earlier in the day with a picnic at the beach, his eyes twinkling as he had presented her with a picnic basket filled with her favorite foods. Once they had eaten their fill of the goodies Matthew had specifically bought with her in mind, he had stood up and eagerly asked Loni if she would stroll with him down the beach. With his palm warm in hers Loni couldn’t have been happier, what with the cool breeze at their back and the warm waters of the Pacific lapping at their feet as they walked hand in hand across the smooth sand. They had remained near the ocean until the sun had begun to set, their conversation light hearted as Matthew had driven them home.
Loni smoothed her favorite lilac colored night gown down her body, her damp ash surrounding her head like a halo as she reclined back against her pillow. Loni’s happy sighs soon turned into laughter as Matthew suddenly ran into their bedroom clad only in a pair of boxers and launched himself across her body. Loni shook with mirth as Matthew reached across and pulled her on top of him, his arms locking around her back as he peppered her neck with kisses. “Let me go Matthew!” Loni shouted playfully as she pulled herself backward in a halfhearted attempt to escape from his embrace.
Instead of fully releasing her Mathew rolled her back so that she was pressed once more against their bed, his brown eyes twinkling mischievously as he braced himself above her.
