The author takes you on a journey through a time in her life when she was suffering from mental illness but kept running from it. She would blame a physical illness she had even though the symptoms didn't always match up. But finally after going through many tests to find out what was wrong, she had to face the truth. She had not one but a handful of mental illnesses and she had to learn to accept them. The hardest part was seeing the good that could come from feeling so miserable all the time. Believing that God was using her mental illnesses to mold her to be like His son Jesus helped her get through her down moments. And knowing that God was going to make things good out of her illnesses was another big boost of positive energy. She wrote her book to show the world what she had experienced in hopes of inspiring and encouraging others out there with mental illnesses that they too can live a wonderful life even if you have to fight for it.
