During high school, Rich thought he'd change the world. Now he's stumped by the survey question, 'what you thought you'd be doing thirty years later.' Contrary to his ambitious plans to design computers to help the blind like his beloved grandfather, he struggles to hold on to a dead-end job and inspire his son to avoid his mistakes.

His second wife complains that he forgets her, their plans, and her daughter. Although Rich regrets the haste of his second marriage, he'd never abandon his adopted daughter, who creeps through life hoping no one notices her.

Talking with old friends during the reunion weekend, Rich flashes back to riding a bike down the street and swallowing a bug, shooting an arrow straight up and almost stabbing his friend, and sleeping with his girlfriend. Vivid memories cause him to rethink his life. As the reunion progresses, Rich takes action and sparks fly.
