Book Summary of See Me by Nicholas Sparks
Colin Hancock, a ruggedly good-looking tattooed guy, is an MMA fighter and a delayed college student with a violent and troubled background and an objective of becoming a teacher. Maria Sanchez, a dark-haired Mexican beauty, works at a prestigious law firm. Colin and Maria meet for the very first time when Colin assists her with her tire on the road during a rainstorm. Maria is initially scared of Colin because his face is beaten and bruised as a result of an MMA fight. Maria's sister Serena, who shares a couple of classes with Colin at UNC Wilmington, helps them meet again at the bar where Colin works. Colin and Maria form a connection and start dating. Maria has been trying to ward off sexual advances from one of her married bosses, Ken Martenson, while her other boss Barney overworks her and other employees. Though Colin brings Maria flowers at work once, she receives a bouquet of roses later with a strange note and when she throws it away, someone shoves it back in her car. Maria and Colin suspect it is Ken but as a result of investigative work done by Colin, they find out that it was not from Ken. When Maria and Colin go to a double date with Colin's best friend Evan and his fiancée Lily, a guy in a baseball cap orders drinks for them and Colin loses his cool while attempting to ask the waitress about his appearance. Colin's makeshift probation officer, Pete Margolis, who hates Colin and has always wanted to send Colin to prison arrives to finally arrest him but Lily convinces him not to.
