Summary of Russian Roulette

On the 6th of January, 2017, the intelligence agencies briefed Donald Trump about Russia's role in getting him elected as a president. Further, then FBI Director James Comey let him know that the intelligence agencies also had material to indicate that Trump had joined forces with Moscow for this turn of events since Russian entities had blackmailed him with the help of the footage they had of him with prostitutes and other stuff. They also warned him that the media might disclose this information to the public. It enraged Trump. He thought the agencies were blackmailing him and was determined not to be blackmailed. The rage set the stage for his presidency and how it would unfold. Even though this issue and the investigations pertaining to it acquired the status of a significant scandal, Trump did not consider the issue to be real and any investigations pertaining to it seemed to him like attempts to cause harm to him. However, this scandal went way back. Trump had sought business deals in Russia and this even went on during the initial months of his presidential campaign. This left an effect on how Trump would interact with Putin.
