A German assassin is shot dead as he sits in his car in Stockholm, Sweden waiting to kill the head of the largest investment bank in Scandinavia. The Stockholm Police have no witnesses to the killing but as they investigate, all leads point to a female assassin working for the Russian mafia who has killed more than 120 men in Europe.

At the same time other investment bankers begin to die. Since the original assassin is dead, who is killing the other bankers?

As the bodies begin to pile up Mona Forseke, editor of Liberation Magazine asks freelance journalist Matti Hälleström to find the female assassin. There are no good pictures of her in existence and every man who has ever let her into his house or hotel room is dead. Most of her victims knew they were going to die as she attacked them but there was nothing any one of them could do about it. Many of her victims are garroted; others are simply beaten to death by a woman who is clearly an expert at martial arts.

Also searching for the female assassin are Inspectors Linn Brexner and Håkan Arvidsson of the Stockholm Police. Arvidsson has by far the best record of any inspector on the force but this case is leaving him baffled. More bankers are dying and the case is coming to a climax. Arvidsson and Brexner have to find the assassin before she leaves the country but where to look?

Meanwhile Matti Hälleström is homing in on the assassin in a different direction using methods the police just don’t have access to. As Hälleström gets closer he comes to the attention of the assassin, Lisa Molin, and he in turn becomes a target.

Don’t miss the gripping climax of this book. A short excerpt follows:

In Arvidsson’s office, he and Brexner listened in shock as the attack took place. They heard Jöback go down and then they heard Stephanie drop her phone as she went down. They listened to the sound of gunfire as Oliver Siemsen fired at the assassin and they heard the screams as he was attacked. While all that was going on Arvidsson was yelling into the radio shouting for the police cars that were on the way to get there as fast as possible.
