The Executive Investor
“Good Career … Great Investments!”
A story about a man and his quest for financial independence
________________

At the age of thirty eight I’d already experienced a modest amount of career success.

If only I could say the same about my investments. If only I could master my investments so I could embrace the uncertainty of the markets and enjoy the peace of mind that comes from knowing I’m doing the right thing. And if I do get it right, maybe I could even become financially independent some day.

So, that’s what I did. I committed myself to implementing a strategy that would lead me to financial independence.

This book is written ten years later.
_________

The Executive Investor focuses on achieving financial independence by making sound investments in the financial markets and in real estate.

The journey begins with a series of illustrations to introduce the most important investment principles. These principles are used as a backdrop to identify a collection of low cost stocks and bonds for long term growth and income. The decision to invest in stocks, bonds or cash is based on target-date asset requirements, rather than the more traditional asset allocation methods. However, investment selection relies on benchmark and dividend growth indexes using well established exchange traded funds. Once the investments are identified, this book suggests an unconventional way of harnessing short term volatility with a light form of market timing.

The real estate component focuses on building a steady flow of income from single-family homes and condominiums. It suggests that successful investing begins by selecting quality starter homes and by practicing harmonious property management based on doing the right thing. However, since real estate investing is very different from home ownership, it places financial drivers in front and center of all investment decisions.
_________

This book answers all the questions I’ve raised over the past ten years before investing my hard earned money.
I sincerely hope it helps you in achieving your own investment success.
