Henry Van Dyke (Nov 10, 1852 - Apr 10, 1933) was an American author, educator, and clergyman. Educated at Princeton, Van Dyke graduated from its theological seminary in 1877 and became a Presbyterian minister. The Key of Tower is a short story by Henry Van Dyke. The story revolves around a tower, where a princess dwells. Many brave knights came to its doorsteps. All of them wanted to take down the gates, break in and take the princess out. Of course, they wanted that with little consideration of what the princess herself actually desired. But what will eventually open the thick wooden doors of princess’s high domain, brute force, tongue of silver, quick mind or something less ordinary – read and find out.
