Many anti-abortion groups will pressure a child, teen or woman into not having an abortion. Why do you think they do that? Is it really to save a life because abortion is murder? Or is it because they want to grow their numbers in church? One more lifelong member of the church to pay the tithe? Pressuring a person into not having an abortion is cruel. It's not considering the fact that she has to deal with having a child, which will impact her for the rest of her life. It affects her physical health, her mental health, her finances, her looks, her social groups - everything. I know a young woman, Beth, who had 2 little ones and was very poor. Her boyfriend, Jake, left her and the kids right after the second baby was born. She was so broke and desperate that she devised a way to make just a little extra money. Jake would bring her child support money when he came over to visit his boys. Beth realised that Jake was willing to give out just a little extra grocery money if she had sex with him while the kids watched a movie. Maybe, just maybe, a mom shouldn't have to whore herself out for groceries. It didn't seem to me that Beth had chosen the right time in her life to have kids. We need to be able to carefully plan out and choose how we want to create our family. A lot of babies are made out of moments of passion when our decision-making skills are not at their highest. If two people make a mistake and conceive a child that doesn't fit into their parenting plans, it should be easy to stop that pregnancy from continuing.
