Training Circular (TC) 3-22.23 provides technical information about training and employment of M18A1 claymore munitions. Intended users include leaders and Soldiers who use this information to successfully integrate M18A1 claymore munitions into their combat operations. The electrical system used to fire the M18A1 claymore munition has been replaced by a nonelectrical system, a shock tube assembly with pull initiator; however, M18A1 claymore munitions equipped with electrical firing systems will remain in the Army inventory until the current stock is exhausted.
This TC applies to the Active Army, the Army National Guard (ARNG)/Army National Guard of the United States (ARNGUS), and the United States Army Reserve (USAR) unless otherwise stated.
The proponent for this publication is the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC). The preparing agency is the Maneuver Center of Excellence (MCoE).
