Originally entitled O’Reilly’s Story, this story narrates the evolution of a love relationship between two straight men as they traverse the stages on their way to becoming not only a gay couple, but the fathers of two boys. Both characters, as many homosexuals, begin the journey of self-discovery convinced that they are heterosexual in orientation. Thus when we meet Elliot, he is a happily married man, who only after his wife dies tragically, falls in love with Desmond, who is already involved with a beautiful socialite.
While both men are drawn to one another from the moment they meet, their lives become progressively entwined, as they continue to deny any interest in a homosexual relationship. Yet, their growing love and admiration for one another draws them closer to the flame of a passionate love, until neither is able to continue repressing their true feelings and emotions for one another.
