This is part of a series of books in which particular verses are picked from books of the bible, and the issues of Spiritual Identity are explored, in the light of the mind of God for us.
In this book, we explore nine topics, from different verses in the books of 2John, Jude, and Revelation. They are: You can go too far in your understanding of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit: here is how; Clouds without water; Wretched, miserable, poor, blind, naked; and Creativity.
Excerpts:
You can go too far in your understanding of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit; here is how
“We see the Holy Spirit as dove, fire, wind, wine, and you can beginning to think of him as merely a force, and if just that it does not make a sense that Jesus will say he will guide us into all truth. He will convict the world of sin, judgment and righteousness. He will take of what is his and show it to us. He calls him another comforter like him, not less than Jesus in anything, a full presentative of Jesus as the father was the full representative of the father (Hebrews 1, John 16).”
Clouds without water
“God rebuked certain prophets in the book of Jeremiah, saying they prophesied but not according to him and have led the people astray (Jeremiah 23:16-23). But the solution was simple: God said if they had taken the pain to find out what He has to say then they would truly speak for him. And not be clouds without water.”
Wretched, miserable, poor, blind, naked
“The bible says that we shall not live by sight but by faith (2Corinthians 5:7). That means faith is a different kind of seeing, in which we see the word of God as more real that the evidence around. The bible says that with faith we understand that that the worlds were framed by the word of God. Though we were not there when it happened our faith bridges time and space, and we “see,” recognise the truth that God is creator. We see God creating the world with the eyes of faith even though we were not there. Faith, i.e. spiritual sight that we should have comes by hearing the word of God (Romans 10:17).”
Creativity
“God spoke about a man he specially appointed and anointed for the work of constructing the components of the tabernacle in the wilderness (Exodus 31:1-5). He enabled him for creativity in all artistic expressions. He was up to the task because God equipped him with the ability.”
