Returning to York was supposed to be about business, protecting their family's interests in the city, at least that was what Juliet told her family when they tried to stop her. She didn't tell them the truth, that she returned to the city of her birth because she hoped to find Emily once more.
She couldn't risk it, couldn't risk her family forcing her away over their fears. She would find Emily, and she didn't care that the blonde's family might not like it.
Granted, it wasn't exactly a good idea to piss off a family of vampires, especially one as old as Emily's, but she wasn't defenseless. She was an alpha werewolf, the leader of her pack, and if she had to fight she would, though she hoped she would be able to get to her childhood friend without having to fight those she loved.
Not everything went according to plan though, and the first time she saw the vampire she realized she had been lying to herself. It hadn't been friendship that had brought her to the other woman, it had been desire, want, love.
There were just a few problems with it all. Vampires hated werewolves, werewolves hated vampires, and Juliet and Emily's families hated each other. Nothing they couldn't get over … right?
