War Torn

by Kent Nedland

Legiar is the young king who has inherited a weakened and dying kingdom on the verge of being conquered. Hard choices await Legiar as he struggles to find a way to save his kingdom.

Targe is a farmer from the land of Dim-Lou drafted into the ranks of the Dim-Lou army.

He blames his king for the tragedies that have befallen him, and he seeks revenge.

Welsh is a nomad turned holy eminence of the Delsha Empire. He seeks to quell the growing rebellion with Dim-Lou to assure his own land’s dominance.

Issella is the daughter of Eminence Welsh, an only child who has lived a life of luxury. Issella has no desire to sacrifice the life she has. What price will she pay to protect her title and way of life?

And Saphina is a servant to the king of Dim-Lou. Saphina is freed by Legiar and quickly devotes her life to serving the king, who has given her freedom. She dreams of becoming queen and is willing to do whatever it takes to make this dream a reality.

War Torn is a poetic fantasy novel that tells the story of the war between Dim-Lou, a small farming community, and the desert Empire Delsha. It includes a collection of sonnets written from the point of view of five different characters whose actions and choices shape the future of the kingdom.
