WORDS OF LOVE: ONE WORD A DAY Devotional is a daily study of one word each day taken from key verses in the Christian Bible. You may or may not share the religious views. That truly is of no consequence. As humans, we share the same planet, the same humanity and ultimately the same destiny. Regardless of any religious consideration, the topics in this study deal with fundamental elements of our character, of human nature, and of things that bind us together as a family, friends, neighbors and fellow citizens.
In this volume, we examine the fourteen words of love. These words, taken from 1 Corinthians 13 in the New Testament of the Christian bible, represent a brief glimpse of the incredible transformation we can have in our lives by working each day to make them a constant part of our character.
Some may choose to argue that love is not so much strong as it is fragile. Maybe that's because we are building on the wrong foundation.
Love built on a foundation of patience and kindness, love that is not envious or boastful or haughty will be strong. Love that also demonstrates honor and is not self-serving, not quick to anger and never keeps score will be even more powerful. Yet, the love that can also find triumph in the truth, that always protects, trusts and hopes will always persevere and will never fail. Using this foundation God guarantees success.
The One Word A Day Devotional is an ongoing series designed to provide meaningful but brief studies of key elements in the human character that hopefully help each of us to examine the quality of ourselves more carefully. It's simply about being the best we can be.
When we are at our best, we are more productive, more successful, more content and happy in our relationships and we find greater purpose in our lives.
1 Corinthians 13:4-8
Love is patient; love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.
