When George Jason's dog, Sophie, was found shot with a 22-caliber gun, George decided that vengeance was necessary. The dog had been found shot, and left in a ditch. George called the police, and the police chief came out to investigate. Checking the other farms in the area, it was only the Stewards that owned a 22-caliber gun. It turned out that one of Stewards son, Kurt had shot the dog Sophie, because as he said, Sophie had been trying to kill their Roster. That is a lie insisted George as his dog Sophie was a guard dog, and not a hunter. George went up to the Steward's farm, to tell the farmer Phil Steward that there was no ill-feeling. The police made a good investigation, and asked George if he had owned a 22 caliber weapon. No, answered George. I have never own any-kind of guns. As that was a lie, and George had a 22-caliber gun, he bought for many years ago. He with this gun, decided to vengeance little Sophie. One day he went up close to the Steward farm, and lying in some thick growth he could see Steward's two sons enter their barn. Kurt came out to drive to the store, and as he opened the car door, George made his shot, and killed Sophie's murderer. The forensic evaluation of this crime took a long time, and the police chief made many trips to Georges farm. Then one day, the chief was back again, and told George that he had been going through some old papers, and found out that George had owned a gun some years back, George was taken in custody for the killing of Kurt Steward, and got a life sentence. George gave the farm to his workers as he didn't want the animals to suffer.
