“In this day and age when we see so much obesity, caused by the convenience foods found in the supermarkets and the fast food outlets, I think this book should be a must for every youngster (start young, maybe they will see the light). Chef Alain Braux shows us that even things we thought were ok, aren’t, if they are overcooked or micro waved, or even hard boiled eggs. Soft boiled eggs are better for you and your digestion. Simple little things that are so easy to adjust in our daily lives.

This book is fun to read while it is showing us the pitfalls and how to chose food. Buying locally produced fresh meat and vegetables, and organic and humanely raised (for me). People are now becoming aware of all the junk and hormones pumped into food to produce “bigger and better looking”. Go for the locally grown misshapen tomato or apple that has had no pesticides sprayed on it.

I really believe this book should be read by school and college students, to make them aware of what they are doing to their bodies. Chef Alain Braux shows us how we can make delicious appetizing meals that fulfill and do not leave us hungry and in need of a snack half an hour later”

– Anna Murray

“A reference book, a meal planning resource, and a cook book – all under one roof. With a friendly and charming writing style, Alain Braux delivers what North America’s cooks, restaurants, and school cafeterias *should* be delivering, but don’t: a completely healthy and tasty alternative to our overweight culture.

His research is in-depth and thorough. His presentation style makes it is easy to absorb, even for this dude. I enjoy the meal suggestions, and weekly planning guide… it takes the theory to a very practical level we can all use.

Did you know that there are now more people in the world croaking from diseases caused by obesity than by starvation? Alain is in the front lines of those doing battle for the health of the world.

A definite must-have for anyone who loves cooking, and needs a nudge in the right direction if their waste line – or cholesterol numbers – are a little to high."
