When Drusilla became the ruler of Silverstone, one of the strongest city-states near the Verge, Erika knew things would change for the worst. She was a werewolf, daughter of her alpha, and all werewolves knew Drusilla hated them, wanted them hunted down for experimentation. The situation was so grave that she barely questioned her father when he announced the intention of allying with Liliana, the alpha of the second largest pack around.
Much like Drusilla, Liliana was a reviled figure by most, a wolf that advocated combat against the city-states and those that tried to oppress them. It was a foolish notion, they were too outnumbered, but many followed her because of it.
Words wouldn't be enough to seal an alliance between their packs though, and right from the start Erika understood it would be her marriage that would act as a bridge between the packs. She would mate Liliana and assure their packs were ready to face Silverstone as one. It didn't mean she was pleased by it.
She didn't like the woman, didn't see how their union would be anything more than a political alliance, but when the children of Lucasville, largest town in the Verse, are kidnapped by goblins, the older woman might have a chance to show her things could be different.
