It's an ancient tradition among the Christians, especially in Catholic and Anglican domains, to celebrate the Stations of the Cross, also Way of the Cross or simply The Cross especially in the Holy Week and the Good Friday.

If You search in the internet for these terms (Google, Wikipedia etc.), You'll read that there are some differences within this celebrations. In this ebook You can view a Stations of the Cross with 14 stations, as shown in Hohenfels. The rich colored pictures are shown isolated from the masoned shrine like columns of the single stations with the descriptions of the scenes in English, French and German.

These pictures are elaborated by an unknown artist and repainted in 2009 by Leonhard Huger from Hohenfels. They were made as steel boards in wooden frames with blue ogives on top, showing the stations numbers. The columns were erected in the 19th century. The way is about 120 m in length and to go easily.

All stations are on the left handed side of the way. At the end there is a crucifixion group with a single cross and Mary and John besides.

Hohenfels is a market community in the administrative district Neumarkt in the Oberpfalz, known by the training area with the same name. The Kalvarienberg up (Hohenfels-Klausen) there is this Stations of the Cross.
