The detective catching Angie’s eye was Mandy Macquire. Long brunette hair reached down her back and a set of the darkest brown eyes a person could drown in were another of her stunning attributes; not to mention her voluptuous figure that curved in all the right places. Everything about her was pleasing to the eye.
When the elevator stopped on their floor, Angie brought her thoughts back and stepped out into the hallway walking ahead of her neighbor.
Before she could unlock her door, he had made his way up behind her. She felt his warm breath touching her bare shoulder almost causing a shudder to race through her. The man definitely made her feel uneasy.
“If you reconsider getting back into the dating scene, let me know,” he said in a tone that he tried making sound seductive, but all it did was grate on Angie’s nerves.
“You’ll be the first to know.” As she glanced back at him, her black eyes met her neighbor’s blue eyes. “Be seeing you.”
She threw the words over her shoulder before entering her apartment and leaning back against the door listening for the sound of his footsteps waiting for him to leave, but she didn’t hear a thing.
She quickly turned and locked the door, attaching the night chain in place. She didn’t know that much about her neighbor and she wasn’t in the mood to find out what made him tick.
The damned man irritated her every time she ran into him in the hallway.
She was just on the verge of telling him to get a life, but always held back since she didn’t want to cause waves. She wondered what his reaction would be if she did utter the words to him.
Angie walked into the bathroom and stripped off her clothing standing under the warm spray of water in the shower. She could feel the tension leaving her body as the water caressed her from head to toe.
