The Six Swans is a fairy tale written by German brothers, academics, linguists, and cultural researchers Wilhelm and Jacob Grimm and collected under number 49. They were among the best-known storytellers of folk tales, and popularized stories such as "Cinderella", "Hansel and Gretel" , "Rapunzel", and "Snow White" . One an evil stepmother, who was a beautiful but evil daughter of a witch, turned six brothers from a king’s first marriage into swans. Swans can only take human forms for fifteen minutes every evening. In order to free all brothers, their sister must make six shirts for them out of nettle and neither speak nor laugh for seven years otherwise the spell will never be broken and they will be swans forever.
